Bush Flower Remedies

Flower essences have a very long history spanning many cultures.  Even before Christ's time they were used for health and healing.  Australian Aborigines used the beneficial effects of a flower by eating the whole flower.  A number of other cultures including the Egyptian, Malay and African used flowers to treat ailments, emotional states and imbalances. The knowledge of the healing properties of flowers appears to have been largely lost over the last few centuries, but the modern pioneer, Dr Edward Bach (1886-1936) brought these remedies back into use.  My grandmother used to use many of these remedies when we were children and I inherited my love of natural remedies from her.

In the last ten years or so a great deal of research has been done in various parts of the world and I believe these essences will become more and more important in our world.

They are especially  of interest to pregnant and young mothers:  They are one of the very few remedies that are totally safe to use during pregnancy and for young children*.
